Key Responsibilities- Manage and oversee the vocational training program, ensuring compliance with Spectrum practices, Work Ability I Program guidelines, and department of labor requirements.
- Develop and implement vocational training plans, providing job coaching and career counseling to students with individualized education plans (IEPs).
- Collaborate with teachers and educational coordinators to select transition assessments and develop ITPs.
- Provide vocational, career, and transition inventories, including annual age-appropriate assessments and work readiness evaluations.
- Assist classrooms with on-campus unpaid vocational training, work and career exploration, and pre-employment curriculum activities.
- Develop and schedule new on-campus training opportunities as needed.
- Order and distribute necessary curriculum resources, tools, and materials related to vocational training.
- Contribute to supervision of student training, ensuring compliance with WAI practices, DOL regulations, and IEP/ITP goals/plans.
- Provide job coaching to selected students on and off campus, and train classroom staff on job methods and procedures.
- Manage daily operations related to student stores, including purchasing and inventory management.
- Develop and manage community-based work training opportunities, including job matching and employer partnerships.
- Create work schedules and training schedules, providing them to students and staff.
- Oversee student payroll associated with the WAI program, adhering to payroll procedures and submitting work permits and renewals.
- Attend required training and meetings, both on and off campus.
- Collect and track student data for WAI grant reporting.
- Bachelor's degree or higher in education, social work, vocational rehabilitation, or a related field.
- Valid state driver's license.
- Prior experience working with students with developmental disabilities and challenging behaviors.
- Prior experience in vocational training and/or job coaching.
- Prior experience with program management and/or development, and working with databases/spreadsheets.
- Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of staff members, students, parents, customers, and the general public.
- Highly skilled in the utilization of computers, including Microsoft applications such as Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
