We are seeking a highly skilled Junior Real-Time Trader to join our team at Paritas Recruitment. As a key member of our dynamic team, you will be responsible for optimizing physical and financial trading positions within the Day-Ahead and Real-Time markets.
Key Responsibilities:
- Market Analysis: Conduct in-depth analysis of near-term supply and demand dynamics, competitor strategies, and transmission constraints to inform trading decisions.
- Trading Position Optimization: Develop and implement strategies to optimize trading positions for battery storage, wind, and solar assets within day-ahead and real-time markets.
- Tool Development: Design and implement internal tools and processes to enhance scalability and business success.
- Asset Onboarding: Support the onboarding of new assets, including monitoring and documentation.
- Shift Desk Rotation: Participate in shift desk rotations, including weekends and overnight shifts, to manage real-time market opportunities and risks.
Requirements:
- Strong Interest in Short-Term Power Trading: A strong interest or experience in short-term power trading, with a focus on managing the dispatch of physical assets.
- Attention to Detail: Attention to detail and adherence to ERCOT business practices, nodal protocols, and NERC operating guidelines.
- Effective Communication: Ability to communicate complex issues effectively and prioritize workload in a time-sensitive environment.
- Flexibility: Flexibility to participate in shift rotations (weekends and overnight).
Preferred Qualifications:
- ERCOT Markets Operations: Knowledge of the ERCOT markets operations, rules, and key players.
- Experience with Battery Storage: Experience managing battery storage, wind, or solar technologies in competitive power markets.
- Real-Time Power Market Price Drivers: Familiarity with real-time power and ancillary services market price drivers.
- Technical Skills: Experience with Python (Pandas), SQL databases, and post-trade analytics.
