Pipefitting Specialist

Position Overview: The Pipefitter is responsible for the assembly, layout, installation, and maintenance of piping systems associated with steam, fluids, or gases. These systems may encompass various components such as pipes, flanges, supports, valves, gauges, hangars, and angles. The role may require work in diverse environments including construction sites, buildings, and underground areas, as well as at heights of up to 300 feet.
Essential Qualifications:
- Successful completion of the REPCON Pipefitter Assessment.
- Completion of the REPCON Basic Rigging Assessment or possession of NCCER certification.
- Current Basic Orientation Plus (Safety Council card) or within three months of expiration.
- Valid TWIC Card.
- A minimum of three years of relevant experience in the pipefitting trade.
- Proven history of industrial construction and maintenance work.
- Ability to accurately interpret blueprints, construction drawings, technical manuals, and manufacturer instructions.
- Applied knowledge of pipe fitting processes for industrial piping and boiler systems.
- Strong problem-solving skills and reading comprehension.
- Capability to collaborate effectively as part of a team while also working independently with minimal supervision.
- Effective communication skills, both verbal and listening, with colleagues and supervisors.
Physical Demands:
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, squat, and lift for extended periods.
- Good manual dexterity for precise adjustments of machinery components.
- Use of arms and hands for signaling, grasping, holding, turning, pushing, and pulling objects and tools.
- Capacity to lift, carry, and move items weighing up to 50 pounds.
- Willingness to work at heights, climb ladders and stairways, and operate from platforms, utilizing proper fall protection measures.
- Visual acuity to focus on tasks, see short and long distances, and perceive colors and depth.
- Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions, including heat, cold, rain, snow, and wind, for extended hours.
- Compliance with personal protective equipment (PPE) requirements, including hard hats, safety glasses, ear protection, masks, safety vests, gloves, and steel-toe boots.
