Job Summary

This is a skilled technical work position involving the operation, maintenance, repair, and alteration of the campus Electric High Voltage Distribution System as a member of a lineman team.

The Team's mission includes 24 hour response to campus electrical outages to restore power as quickly as possible.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Inspects, installs, maintains, and repairs high voltage, primary, and secondary underground and overhead cable.
  2. Installs, maintains, and repairs loop feed switches, substation high voltage equipment and appurtenances, and building transformers.
  3. Sets poles, riggings, pulls, and makes splices and interconnects high voltage and secondary cable.
  4. Operates bucket and line trucks and performs related work as needed.
Requirements

Requires technical knowledge in the field acquired through an apprenticeship, formal training programs, or on-the-job training.
