Polysomnography Technician II

At Advocate Health, we are seeking a highly skilled Polysomnography Technician II to join our team. As a Polysomnography Technician II, you will play a critical role in the diagnosis and treatment of sleep disorders.

• Prepare and calibrate equipment for sleep studies to ensure accurate data collection.
• Apply monitoring electrodes, bands, and probes to patients to collect physiological data.
• Follow established sleep procedures to document baseline values and sleep patterns.
• Assist with scoring sleep/wake stages and generating reports.
• Implement interventions, including CPAP and oxygen administration, to ensure patient safety.
• Perform polysomnographic data acquisition and monitor study-tracing quality.
• Verify data integrity and complete the data collection process.
• Set up video and audio monitoring apparatus and maintain equipment in clean operating condition.
• Schedule and discuss test processes with patients, ensuring their knowledge and comfort.

• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 30 days.
• Polysomnographic Technologist (RPSGT) registration or equivalent within 2 years.
• Advanced training beyond high school, including completion of an accredited program.

• Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
• Basic computer skills.

• May drive between sites, exposing you to road hazards.
• Operates equipment essential to performing the job.
• Must sit, stand, walk, lift, squat, and kneel throughout the workday.
