Position Overview

At Vail Resorts, exceptional service is at the core of our mission, and our Ski Patrol team plays a vital role in ensuring a memorable experience for all. As a Ski Patrol member, you will be responsible for the safety and security of both staff and guests on the mountain, remaining vigilant and composed in the face of emergencies.

Position Specifications

  • Expected Pay Range: $25.49 / hour
  • Shift & Schedule Availability: Full Time
    • Required Certification Level: WFR; EMT; OEC
    • Required Ski Level: Expert
  • Other Specifics: Patrol members engage in a variety of tasks across diverse terrains and weather conditions. Candidates must successfully pass an expert-level ski patrol test upon hiring.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and enhance guest safety across varied terrains and changing winter weather conditions.
  • Assist injured or ill guests on the mountain and provide first aid.
  • Safely transport injured guests off the mountain.
  • Maintain trails, including identifying hazards and implementing closures, safety measures, and addressing environmental impacts.
  • Transport supplies and heavy equipment to necessary locations.
  • Conduct end-of-day procedures to ensure all guests are safely off the mountain.
  • Enforce the Skier Responsibility Code and Resort Policies.
  • Manage chairlift and guest evacuations.
  • Operate snowmobiles as needed throughout the mountain.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Position Requirements:

  • Previous patrol experience is required.
  • Must pass the resort's Ski Patrol sponsored ski test, demonstrating the ability to ski all types of terrain under various weather conditions.
  • Fluency in English is mandatory.
  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • Exceptional guest service skills are essential.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Capability to work in adverse weather conditions in a mountain setting.

The anticipated pay range is $25.49. This reflects the range we expect to offer for this position, with individual compensation decisions based on various factors.
