About the Role:We are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic individual to teach swimming lessons to children and adults. As a Swim Lesson Instructor, you will be responsible for creating a safe and fun learning environment, developing lesson plans, and providing feedback to students.
Key Responsibilities:- Instruct swimming lessons to individuals of all ages and skill levels
- Develop and implement lesson plans that meet the needs of our members
- Provide feedback and guidance to students to help them improve their swimming skills
- Maintain accurate records of student progress and attendance
- Attend staff meetings and training sessions as scheduled
- Follow all YMCA policies and procedures, including emergency and safety protocols
- At least 16 years of age
- YMCA Swim Instructor certification or equivalent (achieved within 90 days)
- CPR for the Professional Rescuer, AED, Basic First Aid certification, and Emergency Oxygen
- Ability to demonstrate swim instructor skills in accordance with YMCA standards
- Strong organizational, verbal, written, and customer service skills
The ability to instruct and observe participants in proper stroke techniques, as well as the ability to lift equipment and small to average-sized children.
