About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Intraoperative Neuromonitoring Technician to join our team at Duke University Hospital. As a key member of our neurosurgical team, you will be responsible for conducting complex procedures involved in Intraoperative Neuromonitoring to obtain data for use in the diagnosis of clinical disorders of the nervous system.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in the collection and analysis of multiple types of recordings and measurements of the electrical activity of the central and/or peripheral nervous system.
  • Apply extensive knowledge in anatomy and neurophysiology relative to the monitoring being performed.
  • Knowledge and practice of electrical safety relevant to equipment and type of monitoring performed.
  • Assessment of intraoperative procedure relative to orders for monitoring, taking action to address deviation from established practice.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A Bachelor's degree in a biological science or an Associate's Degree in a biological science with equivalent experience.
  • 1-3 years of experience specifically in intraoperative neuromonitoring, with a minimum of 6 months of experience in IONM at Duke.
  • Proof of competency in all performed modalities in IONM and other specialized procedures as appropriate to hospital practice.
