Job Summary:

The Laboratory Assistant provides critical support to the laboratory team, performing a variety of tasks to ensure efficient and accurate testing. This role requires strong organizational and communication skills, as well as the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Reviews and processes laboratory orders, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
  • Handles and processes specimens, following strict protocols to ensure quality and safety.
  • Performs phlebotomy and other laboratory procedures as required.
  • Assists with laboratory glassware collection, processing, and sterilization.
  • Collaborates with laboratory staff to ensure smooth operation of the laboratory.
  • Maintains accurate records and reports, as required.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; knowledge of basic biology and chemistry preferred.
  • Experience in laboratory settings or related fields preferred.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills, with ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.

Working Conditions:

This role requires working in a fast-paced laboratory environment, with exposure to chemicals, biological agents, and other hazards. The ability to lift, carry, and move equipment and supplies is also required.
