Key Responsibilities

The Class A CDL Truck Driver will be responsible for:

  • Operating company-owned and leased vehicles exceeding 4 tons to support shipping and receiving activities.
  • Handling the delivery, collection, and repositioning of client products and materials.
  • Focusing on trailer movements within the yard, with no long-distance driving required.
  • Conducting necessary pre-operation, during-operation, and post-operation maintenance checks and reporting.
  • Delivering exceptional customer service during all delivery and pickup processes.
  • Utilizing material handling equipment as needed.
  • Adhering to all safety protocols and maintaining certifications as mandated by DOT, OSHA, and company policies.
  • Safeguarding all entrusted property and ensuring it remains in excellent condition.
  • Assisting with additional tasks to enhance overall team efficiency.
  • Exhibiting professionalism in all interactions.
Qualifications

To be successful in this role, candidates should possess:

  • A comprehensive understanding of traffic regulations and defensive driving techniques.
  • Hazmat and tanker endorsements.
  • Proficiency in operating the required tools and equipment.
  • The ability to safely navigate various vehicles.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to build effective relationships with colleagues and the public.
  • Effective communication skills.
  • The capability to work independently.
  • The stamina to perform physically demanding tasks in diverse weather conditions.
  • The ability to make informed decisions that positively impact the organization.
  • A clean background check and a successful pre-employment drug screening.
  • A minimum of 2 years of recent driving experience with a Class A CDL.
  • A clean driving record with minimal infractions over the past three years.
  • A current Class A CDL and DOT medical card.
  • The ability to successfully complete a company-administered road test.
  • Preferred experience as a yard dog or tractor operator.
