Position Responsibilities and QualificationsWe are in search of a highly skilled and empathetic RN to provide outstanding patient care in our 30-bed surgical care unit. In this capacity, you will deliver direct nursing care to patients who are critically ill and recovering from a diverse range of surgical and post-surgical conditions. Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver patient-centered nursing care and engage in patient and family education.
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of nurses, providers, and support staff to develop and implement individualized care plans.
- Utilize computerized documentation systems to monitor, record, and communicate patient conditions as necessary.
- Coordinate patient discharge planning with members of the healthcare team.
- Maintain cultural and diversity awareness when interacting with patients, visitors, colleagues, and other stakeholders.
Qualifications:
- Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing (BSN preferred).
- Current Registered Nurse License in Virginia or Current Multistate Compact License.
- 1 year of medical-surgical experience in an acute care hospital setting preferred.
- Current American Red Cross or American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS or BCLS) Certification.
