Job Summary

As a Behavior Intervention Specialist, you will play a critical role in supporting individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Your primary responsibility will be to assist in the coordination of behavioral services, working closely with the support team to identify and address specific challenge areas.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Evaluate and analyze behavioral data to inform recommendations for behavior modification and skill development.
  • Develop and implement Behavior Support Plans, Medication Monitoring Plans, and Behavior Guidelines in collaboration with the support team.
  • Provide direct supervision and consultation to ensure effective implementation of behavioral support plans.
  • Support across programs as assigned, promoting a cohesive and comprehensive approach to behavioral services.

Requirements:

  • Master's Degree in a clinical or treatment field of psychology, social work, school psychology, or a related field.
  • 2-3 years of experience working with adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities, preferably in a behavioral support role.
  • Training and experience in assessment techniques and behavior support plan development are highly desirable.

Licensure/Certification:

  • Valid NYS License and access to reliable transportation for site visits.
  • Ability to become SCIP-R Certified and perform all aspects of SCIP-R.
  • Must obtain and maintain certification as a SCIP-R instructor, providing training agency-wide as assigned.
