Millwright Apprentice

We are seeking a highly skilled Millwright Apprentice to join our team at Hampton Lumber in Darrington. As a Millwright Apprentice, you will be responsible for assisting in the installation, maintenance, and repair of mechanical equipment and systems in our sawmill operations.

• Assist in the installation, maintenance, and repair of mechanical equipment and systems, including ladders, stairs, and uneven surfaces.
• Work with production personnel to maintain the flow of product and ensure a safe working environment.
• Operate machinery in a safe manner and notify supervisor of any problems that arise during the shift.
• Train new employees as assigned by supervisor and work overtime as necessary.
• Clean shop and maintain proper housekeeping to promote a safe work environment.

• A minimum of 1-year mechanical experience is preferred.
• Must hold and/or obtain Hampton PIT, chainsaw, and fall protection certifications.
• Experience with welding, cutting, troubleshooting equipment and systems, and operating machinery is highly desirable.
