Propulsion Build Engineer

At SpaceX, we're pushing the boundaries of space technology to make humanity a multi-planetary species. As a Propulsion Build Engineer, you'll play a critical role in developing the engines that will propel our spacecraft to new heights.
As a member of our propulsion team, you'll work closely with design and development engineers to design, develop, and test propulsion systems for our spacecraft. You'll be responsible for ensuring that our propulsion systems meet the highest standards of quality, reliability, and performance.
We're looking for a highly motivated and experienced engineer who is passionate about space exploration and propulsion systems. If you're a team player with a strong background in mechanical engineering, aerospace engineering, or a related field, we want to hear from you.
Responsibilities:- Design, develop, and test propulsion systems for our spacecraft
- Work closely with design and development engineers to ensure that propulsion systems meet the highest standards of quality, reliability, and performance
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure that propulsion systems are integrated into our spacecraft
- Develop and maintain technical documentation for propulsion systems
- Participate in the development of new propulsion technologies and systems
- Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, aerospace engineering, or a related field
- At least 1 year of experience in propulsion systems design, development, and testing
- Strong background in mechanical engineering, aerospace engineering, or a related field
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities
- Experience with NX or other solid modeling software
- Experience with metallic or composite manufacturing techniques, processes, equipment, and other processes such as machining, welding, tube bending, structural assembly, etc.
- Understanding of test methods/setups and data acquisition systems
- Experience generating, reading and interpreting engineering drawings
- Experience with Design for Manufacture and Assembly (DFMA)
- Willingness to work long hours and weekends as needed
- Ability to obtain the required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State
