Key Responsibilities
  • Pre-Operative Preparation: Prepare and sterilize surgical instruments, equipment, and supplies according to established protocols.
  • Instrument Management: Monitor and maintain the cleanliness and organization of surgical instruments, ensuring they are in good working condition.
  • Assisting Surgeons: Anticipate and respond to the needs of surgeons during procedures, providing them with the necessary instruments and equipment.
  • Patient Care: Assist in the transfer and positioning of patients, ensuring their comfort and safety throughout the procedure.
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate records of instrument sterilization, patient information, and procedure details.
Requirements
  • Education: Graduation from a nationally accredited education program for surgical technologists and certification as a Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) or equivalent.
  • Experience: One year of experience as a surgical technologist in a healthcare facility, or equivalent experience in a related field.
  • Certifications: Current CPR certification and any other certifications required by the facility or state.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Clinical Experience: Previous experience working in a surgical setting, preferably in a hospital or medical facility.
