Position Overview:
As a Magnetic Resonance Imaging Technologist, you will play a crucial role in our healthcare team by operating MRI equipment to capture detailed images for diagnostic purposes. Your expertise will contribute significantly to patient care and treatment planning.
Department Details:
- Schedule: Full-Time, 36 hours per week, consisting of three 12-hour shifts.
- Shift Times: 6:00 AM - 6:30 PM and 8:00 AM - 8:30 PM.
- Weekend Commitment: Every fifth weekend from 6:00 PM - 6:30 PM, with a holiday rotation.

Responsibilities:
- Operate MRI scanners to produce high-quality images for diagnostic evaluations.
- Prepare and position patients accurately, selecting appropriate technical parameters to obtain optimal cross-sectional images.
- Conduct patient pre-screening, scheduling, and provide educational information regarding the examination process.
- Enter and monitor patient data, ensuring accurate transfer of images to the appropriate storage media.
- Adhere to radiation safety protocols and guidelines to ensure patient and staff safety.
- Ensure the timely submission of high-quality images and documentation to the Picture Archiving and Communication System (PACS).
- Maintain and troubleshoot equipment, reporting any malfunctions to the appropriate personnel.
- Uphold cleanliness and organization within the department, including procedure rooms and storage areas.
Qualifications:
- Licensure/Certification: BLS Provider certification required within one month of hire. Acceptable certifications include those from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
- One or more of the following credentials is required:
- Radiologic Technologist specializing in MRI, credentialed by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
- Nuclear Medical Technologist, credentialed by the Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB).
- Radiologic Technologist specializing in Radiography, credentialed by ARRT.
- Medical Sonographer, credentialed by the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS).
- MRI Technologist, credentialed by the American Registry of Magnetic Resonance Imaging Technologists (ARMRIT).
- Education: High School diploma or equivalent with two years of relevant experience, or an Associate's/Technical degree, or four years of applicable experience.
