Job Description:

We are seeking a highly skilled Content Moderation Policy Specialist to join our team at Spotify. As a specialist in this role, you will be responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining policies and procedures related to government takedown requests.

In this position, you will work closely with our Legal, Government Affairs, and other internal teams to shape, implement, and scale policies and processes. You will also be responsible for intaking and processing of sensitive and complex legal removals requests.

Your primary goal will be to ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations while balancing creator expression and public interest. To achieve this, you will need to stay up-to-date with new and upcoming global legislation related to content moderation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop, review, and update policies and procedures governing government takedown requests.
  • Anticipate and plan for changes and updates to policies and operations based on new and upcoming global legislation.
  • Deliver data-sourced insights regarding policy and legal challenges facing Spotify and other technology platforms.
  • Collaborate with legal and compliance teams to ensure policies align with company objectives and industry best practices.
  • Launch policy updates and recommend operational updates based on new or updated laws and regulations.

Requirements:

  • A minimum of 5+ years experience in the Trust & Safety space, including developing processes around content moderation, government removal requests, and/or platform transparency reports.
  • Strong understanding of government takedown request laws and regulations.
  • Experience with content moderation policies and procedures.
  • Knowledge of international laws and regulations related to content moderation.

Salary: $120,000 - $150,000 per year, depending on location and experience.
