Sanitation Specialist

This position is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and sanitation of the plant to ensure compliance with USDA standards. The successful candidate will be responsible for cleaning and sanitizing equipment, facilities, and machinery to ensure efficient production.

• Cleaning and Sanitizing: Clean and sanitize equipment, facilities, and machinery to maintain conformance to USDA standards.
• Sanitation Procedures: Follow sanitation procedures according to Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP), USDA, and FDA regulations for all sanitation tasks.
• Equipment Maintenance: Set up, stock, and maintain cleaning equipment and supplies.
• Compliance: Comply with and understand company policies and standards, as well as Food Safety and Plant Safety policies, practices, and protocols.

• Previous Experience: Previous sanitation experience is preferred, but not required.
• Food Manufacturing Experience: Prior experience in a food manufacturing plant or similar environment is highly preferred.
• Sanitation Knowledge: Knowledge and technical skills in sanitation and meat processing jobs and chemicals is preferred.
• Communication Skills: Good communication skills and ability to follow directions.
• Team Player: Team player with good attendance and punctuality.
• Detail Oriented: Detail oriented with ability to handle multiple tasks and high pressure hoses.

• Physical Demands: Frequent standing, bending, and walking, which may be required for long periods of time.
• Work Environment: Slippery floors, damp/wet environment, cold temperatures, and loud ambient noise.
• Chemical Handling: Safely handling and being exposed to chemicals.
• Lifting and Moving: Occasional lifting and/or moving up to 50# unassisted.
