About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Algorithm Architect to join our team at Lockheed Martin Corporation. As a key member of our Command, Control, Battle Management, and Communications (C2BMC) National Team, you will be responsible for developing and integrating new capabilities for the Missile Defense System.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide technical expertise and support in developing and analyzing complex algorithms in support of new BMDS capabilities.
  • Assist in the execution, analysis, and trades of Track Server algorithms over large data sets.
  • Participate in developing and documenting complex algorithms, how those algorithms are applied in application software, and create and validate as needed test sets to prove proper implementations.
  • Report to the Global ART EPM, and be responsible to the Global Architect Lead for adhering to architectural guidance as part of implementation.
Requirements
  • An Active DoD TS security clearance required prior to starting.
  • An understanding of Algorithm design techniques, and Kinematic/ Dynamic System modeling.
  • Experience working in an integrated team environment with other systems, software and specialty engineers to develop solutions.
  • Experience working in the missile defense or related domains including operational and technical knowledge of topics such as engagement management, track management, sensor management.
  • Well versed in the utilization of Data Analytics to analyze system performance on large data sets, to visualize complex data sets, and performing trades on algorithm implementations.
  • Have a proven track record of successfully applying system engineering principles to develop product solutions.
  • Experienced in technical interaction with government customers.
Desired Skills
  • Experience working with Machine Learning/Artificial Intelligence, Optimal control, State Estimation, Statistical Analysis, Stochastic processes, Target Tracking/Correlation, and Orbital Mechanics.
  • Experience with BMDS systems.
  • Direct experience in one or more of the following algorithm domains is highly desired: target tracking, target classification, target prediction.
  • Experience in developing Algorithm Description Documents (ADDs).
  • A working knowledge of software development processes and transitioning algorithms into production software is strongly desired, as is knowledge of Object Oriented Analysis and Design principles.
  • Excellent communications skills are required (written and oral) as is the ability to communicate effectively and clearly present technical approaches and findings.
