Janitorial Porter

Job Summary

This is a Facilities Porter position at Schnucks Markets, responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and organization of our store. As a key member of our facilities team, you will be responsible for ensuring a safe and healthy environment for our customers and employees.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide exceptional customer service by maintaining a clean and organized store environment.
• Regularly inspect and clean floors, including scrubbing, stripping, polishing, and re-glossing.
• Operate and maintain cleaning equipment, including scrub machines and buffing machines.
• Empty trash and recyclables from inside and outside the store.
• Clean windows, break rooms, restrooms, and manager's office.
• Follow all safety and sanitation procedures to prevent accidents and maintain a healthy environment.
• Prepare linens for laundry pick-up and change light bulbs as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned by store management.

Training and Development

Training will be provided at the store level to ensure you have the skills and knowledge necessary to perform your duties effectively.

Physical Demands

This position requires the ability to:

• Bend and stoop frequently.
• Handle cleaning chemicals safely.
• Lift up to 40 pounds.
• Work on your feet for extended periods (4-8 hours).

Additional Requirements

Internal candidates must meet the following requirements:

• Have a minimum of six months of employment with Schnucks.
• Be in good standing (not on a performance improvement plan or active discipline).
• Have manager approval based on performance.
