Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer to join our team at Spherion. As a Mechanical Design Engineer, you will be responsible for creating reliable designs that meet client specifications using your knowledge of mechanical design principles, physics, chemistry, and mechanics.

The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in design engineering, mechanical engineering, product design, industrial design, or a related field, and a minimum of 3-4 years of work experience as a design engineer. You will work closely with the production team, service and sales personnel to provide design work and Bill of Material support.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop mechanical components and systems
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure design meets client specifications
  • Develop and implement testing procedures as needed
  • Initiate processes for production and assembly to create better efficiency in the production process
  • Participate in design and production improvements to improve customer value and/or reduce costs

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in design engineering, mechanical engineering, product design, industrial design, or a related field
  • Minimum of 3-4 years of work experience as a design engineer
  • Foundational knowledge in mechanics, materials science, and manufacturing processes, and electrical engineering on topics such as circuit design, control systems, and signal processing
  • Experience using specialist software, such as CAD tools, CAM software, or CAE applications
