We are seeking a highly skilled Pharmacy Technician I to join our team at McLaren Health Care. As a Pharmacy Technician I, you will play a vital role in providing distributive pharmacy services and technical support to our Pharmacists.
Key Responsibilities- Prepare, package, and label IV and unit dose interim and maintenance medications according to prescriber orders and established policies and procedures.
- Assist Pharmacists with duties such as filling containers, preparing and affixing labels, prepackaging pharmaceuticals, maintaining records, and stocking supplies.
- Perform pharmacy computer functions as required.
- Prepare and label IVs, hyperalimentation solutions, chemotherapy agents, and other pharmaceutical products.
- Respond to patient admission, transfer, discharge, discontinued medication notices, and process physician orders according to established procedure.
- Assist in performing recordkeeping, billing, and accounting functions, including verifying remittances, corresponding with third-party prescription payors, entering charges and payments, making adjustments, posting charges, and printing statements.
- Assist in ordering, receiving, inspecting, and adjusting stock.
- Maintain floor stock, crash carts, and nursing station inspection reports.
- Assist in training Pharmacy personnel.
- Participate in performance improvement activities.
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- Valid Michigan Temporary, Limited, or Full Pharmacy Technician License.
- Preferred: Computer experience, previous pharmacy experience, or courses in pharmacy curriculum.
