About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Technical Lead to join our Group Benefits IT Team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for leading engineering teams to drive the transformation of our application landscape.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead engineering teams to successfully drive the transformation of our application landscape
  • Partner with vendors to achieve business outcomes on large transformational programs
  • Develop and execute a strategic technical vision to ensure systems are stable, performant, and secure
  • Hands-on experience with Java and J2EE technologies, including Java Web Services, JMS, JSP, XML, JSON, and JDBC
  • Experience with Web Services (SOAP and Rest) and writing and using scalable and secure APIs
  • Use DevOps and CI/CD tools, including Amazon Web Services (AWS) and CloudFormation
  • Develops Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using CloudFormation templates, YAML files, and Lambda functions
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, math, or any engineering
  • 5+ years of hands-on experience in application software solution development and execution
  • Software development knowledge using AWS resources, including Lambda, CloudWatch, ECS, EKS, RDS, S3, IAM, SNS, SQS, EventBridge, and AWSBatch
  • Experience with Java and J2EE technologies, including Java Web Services, JMS, XML, JSON, and JDBC
  • Experience with Web Services (SOAP and Rest) and writing and using scalable and secure APIs
  • 3+ years of systems design experience and continuous integration and DevOps methodologies
  • Experience with GitHub, Jenkins, Docker, uDeploy, Rally, Checkmarx, AWS CodePipeline, AWS CodeBuild, AWS CodeDeploy, and AWS CodeStar
  • Infrastructure as Code experience, including CloudFormation or Terraform
  • Experience with one or more relational database technologies, such as Postgres or Oracle
  • Familiar with Agile methodology and experience working in an Agile or SAFe development environment
  • Proven ability to work with cross-functional teams and possess analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
