Upholstery Craftsman

Factory Direct Marine & RV is seeking a skilled Upholstery and Canvas Maker to join our team. As a key member of our production team, you will be responsible for creating high-quality upholstery and canvas products for our marine and RV customers.

• Stretch and fabricate webbing and fabric to meet customer specifications
• Collaborate with interior designers to create custom upholstery designs and coordinate fabric selection
• Maintain accurate records of production time and materials used
• Repair and refinish furniture frames and wood components
• Adjust or replace webbing, padding, and springs as needed
• Attach binding or apply solutions to prevent material raveling
• Build furniture with loose fiber stuffing, cotton, felt, and foam padding
• Design and cut upholstery patterns and plans based on customer specifications
• Discuss fabric options and provide cost estimates to customers
• Examine furniture for defects and make repairs as needed
• Fabricate and install upholstery materials on furniture frames
• Interweave and fasten webbing to furniture backs and undersides
• Operate sewing machines or sew upholstery by hand to seam cushions and join material sections
• Read work orders and determine materials required for each project
• Remove old upholstery, webbing, and padding from furniture
• Sew rips or tears in material or create tufting as needed
