Job Summary

MedStar Health is seeking a skilled Diagnostic Imaging Specialist to join our team at MedStar Georgetown University Hospital. As a key member of our radiology department, you will be responsible for performing a full range of diagnostic radiographic examinations, including routine, emergency room trauma, operating room procedures, lithotripsy, portables, and fluoroscopy.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform diagnostic radiographic examinations in accordance with established protocols and procedures.
  • Ensure radiation safety precautions are taken at all times.
  • Adhere to policies and procedures related to obtaining radiographic studies, including performing correct exams and providing accurate information to patients and families.
  • Assist radiologists in performing special radiological examinations and assist with the upkeep of radiographic equipment.
  • Operate digital and fluoroscopic radiographic equipment, ensuring timely completion of exams through tracking, scanning, and other technical workflows.
  • Participate in orientation and other learning opportunities, exemplifying SPIRIT values and patient safety standards.
  • Coordinate and collaborate with technical aides and patient financial associates to ensure efficient room turnover and minimize delays.
Requirements
  • Vocational/Technical Diploma from an AMA-approved school of Radiologic Technology.
  • Registry eligibility by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT); registration is mandatory within 1 year.
  • BLS (Basic Life Support) certification.
  • 1-2 years of hospital-based experience preferred.
