Warehouse Loader

A Material Handler is responsible for efficiently loading and staging materials onto flatbed trailers, ensuring accuracy and adherence to safety standards. The Material Handler will ensure materials are properly staged by following safe stacking guidelines.

• Load and Unload Materials: Read work orders to accurately load materials averaging 20-25ft long onto flatbed trailers.
• Operate Material Handling Equipment: Operate a forklift and other material handling equipment.
• Stage and Secure Materials: Loads/unload materials from pallets, racks, trailers, and shelves by hand or forklift.
• Prevent Damage: Install bracing or dunnage to prevent shifting or damage to material in transit utilizing hand tools.
• Move Materials: Move materials to designated areas utilizing a forklift or overhead crane.
• Collaborate with Team Members: Collaborate with team members and other departments to ensure effective communication and coordination.
• Adhere to Safety Protocols: Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines during the loading/unloading process.
• Report Issues: Report issues or concerns to the supervisor.

• Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience: Experience handling long material (30-45ft long) with a forklift.
• Weather Conditions: Must be able to work in all outdoor weather conditions.
• Attention to Detail: Strong attention to detail with a desire to produce high quality and accurate work.
• Organizational Skills: Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
• Communication Skills: Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Safety Knowledge: Knowledge of safety regulations and procedures.
• Work Orders: Ability to read work orders and follow oral instructions.

• Lifting and Moving: Ability to lift and move up to 50lbs.
• Physical Demands: Ability to stand, bend, twist, and reach for extended periods of time.
• Work Environment: Ability to work in an environment that may be noisy and/or require PPE.
