About the Role:

This position performs a variety of routine and complex technical work in the field of stormwater management. The primary responsibilities include reviewing and approving stormwater pollution prevention plans (SWPPP) and providing technical expertise in stormwater management principles and practices.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Review and approve stormwater pollution prevention plans (SWPPP) to ensure compliance with NPDES construction Stormwater requirements.
  • Provide technical expertise in stormwater management principles and practices to support the administration of the NPDES Small Municipal Separate Storm Sewer System (SMS4) permit requirements.
  • Assist the Stormwater manager with the administration of the NPDES permit requirements.
  • Exercise independent judgement and possess superior knowledge and experience in stormwater management and stormwater engineering principles and practices.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in civil, agricultural, or environmental engineering, environmental sciences, natural resources management, biological sciences, or a related field from an accredited college or university.
  • Professional Engineer (P.E.) or possess certificate as a DHEC Certified Stormwater Plan Reviewer (CSPR).
  • Two (2) years' experience in either construction stormwater plan review or stormwater/civil engineering.
  • DHEC Certified Erosion Prevention and Sediment Control Inspection (CEPSCI) or be able to obtain certification within six months of beginning work.
  • Four (4) years practical experience in either construction stormwater plan review or stormwater/water resources engineering is preferred.
  • Education or experience in construction management, or Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and databases is desirable.
