About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Clinical Therapist to join our team at SBCS's Mi Escuelita Therapeutic Preschool. As a key member of our team, you will provide trauma-informed therapeutic services to children and families, working collaboratively with our preschool teachers and staff to create a supportive and inclusive learning environment.

Responsibilities
  • Conduct strengths-based clinical assessments with children and their families to identify treatment goals and develop service plans.
  • Facilitate weekly therapeutic groups in each classroom using evidence-based curricula, such as the Incredible Years Curriculum and Kindness Curriculum for Mindfulness.
  • Provide individual and/or family therapy to children and their families on a regular basis, addressing a range of issues including trauma, behavioral difficulties, and emotional challenges.
  • Organize and facilitate monthly parent group meetings and Multi-Disciplinary Team meetings to ensure effective communication and collaboration among team members.
  • Provide case management, crisis intervention, and safety planning services to clients as needed, ensuring their well-being and safety.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date case files and service documentation, adhering to agency and funder standards.
  • Meet the minimum number of children served annually, as required by each funding stream.
  • Communicate effectively with other professionals, agencies, and community members to achieve treatment goals and ensure seamless service delivery.
Requirements
  • Master's degree in social work, psychology, or a related field with current BBS registration.
  • Minimum of two years of experience in counseling children and families with a history of trauma, child abuse, or other forms of trauma.
  • Minimum of one year prior experience working with children ages 3-5 years.
  • Ability to work with clients who have significant emotional and behavioral difficulties, including physical aggression.
  • Experience working with preschool-aged children, preferably in a therapeutic or educational setting.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with families, teachers, and other professionals.
  • Patience, compassion, and empathy in working with children with special needs and their families.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills to balance multiple responsibilities.
  • Ability to work with a diverse population, possess cultural sensitivity, and maintain appropriate boundaries with clients.
