Responsibilities:- Provide direct professional nursing services, first aid, and emergency care to students and staff.
- Administer medication with appropriate documentation.
- Maintain accurate medical records to assure compliance with state mandates.
- Provide health information and counseling for students, parents, and staff.
- Perform mandated screening procedures, including vision and hearing.
- Makes appropriate assessment and referrals for suspected abuse/neglect as a mandated reporter.
- Bachelor's Degree in Nurse Preparation.
- Current Registered Nurse Licensure in State of Illinois.
- Current First Aid and Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation program completion.
- Experience in nursing and completion of a school health orientation program.
The Substitute School Nurse will work in a school setting, providing health services to students and staff. The position requires manual dexterity, physical effort, and working conditions that may involve exposure to disagreeable elements.
