Position Overview

The Childhood Education Specialist plays a pivotal role in fostering a nurturing and effective learning environment for young children. A deep understanding of children's developmental stages—cognitive, social, emotional, and physical—is essential to create a safe and engaging atmosphere where children are motivated to learn and thrive.


Key Responsibilities
  • Design and execute educational programs by crafting classroom activities that align with developmentally appropriate practices and early learning benchmarks.
  • Exemplify leadership; promote team success through mentorship and guidance.
  • Organize individualized and group activities tailored to the developmental needs of children, fostering their social, cognitive, and emotional growth.
  • Maintain open lines of communication with parents through informal discussions, progress updates, and scheduled conferences.
  • Ensure compliance with all center policies and relevant state regulations.
  • Uphold a healthy classroom environment by adhering to hygiene and cleanliness standards, as well as ensuring the safety and security of all children.
  • Oversee teacher assistants and classroom volunteers to ensure adherence to planned activities and safety protocols.
  • Keep accurate documentation, including records, forms, and files.
  • Engage in ongoing professional development to promote continuous improvement in teaching practices.
Qualifications
  • A minimum of 2 years of professional experience in child care.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, along with basic computer proficiency.
  • High energy and the ability to collaborate effectively with staff, children, and parents to foster a supportive team environment.
  • A solid understanding of child development principles.
  • Certification in Infant/Child CPR and First Aid.
  • Successful completion of a comprehensive background check and health screening.
  • An Associate's Degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field, with at least 30 credits in ECE.
  • Physical requirements include the ability to walk frequently, manipulate objects, communicate effectively, and possess specific vision capabilities.
  • Demonstrated leadership, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
Preferred Qualifications

Child Development Associate (CDA) credential, Associate's Degree or higher, completion of TECTA classes.
