Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician to join our team at The John Stewart Company. As a key member of our facilities team, you will be responsible for performing a wide range of maintenance duties to ensure the upkeep and maintenance of our properties.

Key Responsibilities
  • Scheduling and Work Order Management: Schedule and respond to work orders in a timely manner, ensuring that all maintenance tasks are completed efficiently and effectively.
  • Preventative Maintenance: Conduct regular inspections and perform preventative maintenance tasks to prevent equipment failures and ensure the overall condition of our properties.
  • Cosmetic and Routine Maintenance: Perform cosmetic and routine maintenance tasks throughout our properties, including unit turnovers and preparations for new move-ins.
  • Repairs and Troubleshooting: Perform plumbing, electrical, mechanical, carpentry, and masonry repairs and troubleshooting as needed.
  • Vendor Coordination: Coordinate and schedule vendor work as necessary, working closely with our Property Manager to ensure seamless execution.
  • Emergency Response: Be on-call for off-shift and weekend emergency maintenance coverage as scheduled.
Requirements
  • Experience and Skills: Minimum 2 years' experience performing maintenance tasks in an apartment development or comparable position. Basic mathematical and computer skills, with fluency in English. Bilingual a plus.
  • Time Management and Organization: Excellent time management and organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Physical Demands: Ability to function in an on-call capacity and have reliable transportation. Sustained physical effort and safe work practices are essential for this role.
