Job Summary

A Rad Imaging Specialist performs a variety of radiographic procedures applying ionizing radiation. Key responsibilities include assisting in performing ERCP's, video fluoroscopies, all OR procedures, and other critical care procedures.

Key Responsibilities

  • Demonstrates competency to assist in performing ERCP's, video fluoroscopies, all OR procedures, Lumbar punctures, bronchoscopies, enterocolitis, sialo grams, rhizotomy, facet blocks, endoscopy-tube placements or injections, t-tube cholangiogram, major trauma/trauma bay, neo-natal ICU, pacing lab.
  • Performs all critical care procedures. Demonstrates competency in the following procedures (arthrograms, myelograms, venograms, minor trauma and troubleshoot complex studies).
  • Demonstrates knowledge and skill to troubleshoot equipment problems. Demonstrates the ability to obtain nursing assessment while nursing is unavailable.
  • Access patient's condition and level of cooperation and makes appropriate judgment of proper care.

Patient Care and Safety

The successful candidate will promote patient care and safety within the department of responsibility. This includes ensuring smooth workflow of patient flow, proper care and use of equipment and materials.

Supervisory Responsibilities

This non-management position reports to a supervisor, manager, director or executive.

Salary Information

The estimated salary for this position is between $55,000 - $75,000 per year, depending on location and experience.

Education and Certifications

Candidates must have completed an accredited Radiology program and hold ARRT Registered certification, SCSQRSA License, and CPR certification.
