We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Residential Instructor to join our team at Alternative Services – Connecticut, Inc. As a Residential Instructor, you will play a vital role in providing daily support and supervision to individuals with developmental disabilities, ensuring their safety, well-being, and quality of life.
Key Responsibilities- Monitor and document consumer behavior, implementing behavior management programs as needed.
- Provide accurate and timely reports on consumer progress, safety, and well-being.
- Assist with medication administration, following DDS Medication Certification guidelines and Agency policies.
- Organize and supervise activities, programs, and outings for consumers, promoting socialization and skill development.
- Collaborate with guardians, parents, and other stakeholders to implement normalization and person-centered planning principles.
- Respond to emergencies and incidents, completing incident reports and notifying supervisors as required.
- Participate in in-service training, seminars, and professional development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge.
- High School Diploma or G.E.D.
- Minimum two years of experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities or dual diagnosis.
- Valid driver's license and ability to be insured by our company.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Certifications in CPR, First Aid, PMT, and DDS State Medication Administration.
- Ability to lift up to 75 pounds and physically intervene as required.
The Residential Instructor is directly accountable to the Residential Manager or designated supervisor.
