Job Summary

This is a full-time, benefited position in the Facilities Maintenance Department at Los Rios Community College District. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing a wide range of cleaning and minor maintenance duties, including overseeing temporary employees.

Key Responsibilities
  • Sweep, scrub, and polish floors, as well as vacuum and steam rugs and carpets.
  • Clean windows, woodwork, walls, and furniture, and disinfect/clean restrooms and drinking fountains.
  • Pick up refuse and recyclables, and transport them to the designated areas.
  • Move and arrange furniture and equipment for classroom changes and set-up for college and community events.
  • Move and wash district/college vehicles, and participate in thorough cleaning and restoration of facilities during off-peak periods.
  • Lock and unlock doors, gates, and windows, and perform maintenance and minor repairs.
  • Receive and pick up supplies and equipment, and operate and maintain cleaning equipment.
  • Report safety, sanitary, and fire hazards, and perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
  • One year of general work experience, including some experience in custodial work.
  • An equity-minded focus, responsiveness, and sensitivity to and understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, gender identity, sexual orientation, and ethnic backgrounds of community college students.
  • Ability to successfully foster and support an inclusive educational and employment environment.
