Job Overview
Educational Life Consultant
As an Educational Life Consultant, you will play a crucial role in supporting undergraduate students as they navigate their university experience. This position involves delivering personalized, comprehensive support that encompasses academic advising, educational assistance, and essential life skills coaching, including career, health, and financial guidance. You will evaluate students' needs, aspirations, and backgrounds to help them make informed decisions that promote their success within the academic environment. Your responsibilities will include closely monitoring a designated group of students who may face challenges, such as conditional admissions or academic probation.
Required Qualifications
A Master's degree is mandatory, along with a minimum of two years of experience in higher education academic advising, support services, or related fields. A successful background check is required.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience working with undergraduate students in a higher education setting is highly desirable.
Skills and Abilities
Applicants should demonstrate a thorough understanding of university policies and procedures. Strong verbal and written communication skills are essential, as well as the ability to manage detailed tasks, handle interruptions, and maintain confidentiality regarding student records. Proficiency in information technology, including database management and Microsoft Office applications, is required. The ability to engage and motivate both traditional and nontraditional students is crucial. While standard office hours are observed, this role may require evening and weekend commitments, as well as travel for conferences.
