This position is an exciting opportunity to make a positive impact on the lives of military service members and their families. As a Military and Family Life Counselor - School, you will provide non-medical counseling services to children and youth of all ages at military installations and off-installation schools.
Key Responsibilities:- Provide non-medical, short-term counseling to children and youth of service members, including assessment, brief counseling, and consultation.
- Support staff and personnel of DoDEA and community schools, and summer camps, through training and health and wellness presentations.
- Establish and maintain working relationships with community resources focused on children and youth, and provide appropriate linkages.
- Manage duty to warn and restricted reporting situations according to DoD protocol, and staff cases with Regional Supervisor/Regional Director.
- Communicate with Regional Supervisor, and participate in regular individual and group supervision, sharing information regarding trends and issues on installations and in facilities.
- Master's degree from an accredited graduate program in a relevant field of study, such as social work, psychology, or counseling.
- Valid unrestricted counseling license from a State, District of Columbia, US Territory, or Commonwealth that grants authority to provide counseling services as an independent practitioner.
- Minimum 2 years of post-masters supervised clinical experience.
- Ability to engage and communicate with military members or children, and respond quickly to emergent situations in any physical location on a military installation and/or within a school setting.
