Emergency Medicine Physician

Wapiti Medical Staffing is seeking a skilled physician to provide locum tenens coverage in the Emergency Department of a hospital in Britt, Iowa. As a physician with Wapiti, you will have the opportunity to work in a dynamic and fast-paced environment, providing high-quality patient care while enjoying a flexible scheduling arrangement.

• Provide locum tenens coverage in the Emergency Department, including some inpatient duties at nights and taking calls from the nursing home.
• Work a variety of shift options, ranging from 12 to 60 hours.
• Collaborate with a team of healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive patient care.

• The hospital is a Level 4 trauma center with 25 inpatient beds.
• The Emergency Department sees an annual volume of 3,500 patients, with an average of 11 patients per day.
• The inpatient volume averages 6 patients per day, between 9pm and 7am.
• The hospital uses the Cerner EMR system and offers dictation services through Escribe and Powernote.
• Ancillary services include lab, radiology, rehab, and respiratory therapy.

• Iowa medical license and DEA/CSR certification.
• Board certification in Emergency Medicine, Internal Medicine, or Family Practice.
• Second and third-year residents with experience will be considered.
• Required life support certifications include ATLS, ACLS, and PALS. ATLS certification is waived for ABEM-certified physicians.
• Covid and flu vaccinations are required.
• Proof of Tdap, Tetanus, and Varicella vaccinations is required.
