Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct thorough assessments of patients' conditions, prepare periodic evaluations, and maintain accurate clinical/progress notes on the day of service.
  • Engage in the development and ongoing revision of the physician's treatment plan.
  • Assist in patient evaluations by performing diagnostic and prognostic tests related to muscle, nerve, joint, and functional capabilities.
  • Administer treatments aimed at alleviating pain and/or restoring function to ensure optimal performance.
  • Document and communicate patients' responses to treatment and any changes in their conditions to the physician.
  • Educate families on the complete physical therapy program, including the use of prosthetic, orthotic, and assistive devices.

Education and Experience:

Mandatory:

  • Bachelor's degree in a physical therapy-related field
  • Doctor of Physical Therapy from an accredited program recognized by the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA).
  • State licensure or certification as a Physical Therapist in Texas.

Preferred:

  • At least one year of relevant experience.

Physical Demands:

  • Ability to stand, sit, and walk for extended durations
  • Capability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds
  • Ability to bend, stoop, and reach
  • Fine motor skills for handling tools and equipment
  • Visual and auditory skills to assess patient conditions and communicate effectively with patients and colleagues.
