Job Summary

The Head Athletic Trainer is a key member of the Dominican University Athletics Department, responsible for providing exceptional care and support to student-athletes. This is a full-time, 12-month position that requires a high level of expertise in athletic training, strong leadership skills, and a commitment to excellence.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide medical care and treatment to student-athletes, including injury prevention, diagnosis, and rehabilitation
  • Develop and implement injury prevention programs and protocols
  • Supervise and schedule part-time assistant athletic trainers and student-workers
  • Manage the athletic training operating budget and ensure compliance with university, conference, and NCAA regulations
  • Collaborate with coaches, trainers, and other department staff to ensure a comprehensive and supportive athletic program
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Athletic Training or related field
  • NATA certification and Illinois state licensure (or eligibility to apply for license)
  • Strong leadership and communication skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
  • Commitment to excellence and customer service
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's degree in Athletic Training or related field
