Job Title: Social Media Intern

Heartland Human Care Services is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Social Media Intern to join our team. As a Social Media Intern, you will play a key role in expanding our digital presence and contributing to content creation that promotes our mission and vision.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement a social media strategy aligned with the organization's mission and goals.
  • Create engaging content for multiple social media platforms, including Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, and Twitter.
  • Manage and update social media profiles and accounts with current best practices.
  • Monitor comments and DM inquiries, and respond in a timely and professional manner.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure our social media strategy aligns with best practices.
  • Track progress and explore adding new platforms to further expand our reach.

Requirements:

  • College students studying Human Rights Practice, Social Work, Non-Profit Management, Communications, Art and Design, or other related field of study.
  • Demonstrated social media proficiency and experience with popular social media platforms.
  • Excellent writing skills, diplomacy, and attention to detail.
  • Tech savvy and proficient in social media and technology tools, including Hootsuite, Linktr.ee, and Canva.
  • Ability to think creatively and develop original social media campaign videos, graphics, and captions.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to handle confidential and sensitive information.

Work Environment:

  • The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
  • Each program site operates on a 24/7 basis, 365 days per year.
  • Program sites are located throughout the Chicago area, including the North and South sides of Chicago, as well as the suburbs.
