Job Summary: D.A. Collins Companies is seeking a skilled Civil Engineer to join our team as a Field Engineer. The successful candidate will be responsible for evaluating and analyzing construction plans, reviewing shop drawing submittals, and measuring and tracking quantities of work in place.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Evaluate and analyze construction plans to ensure compliance with company standards and regulations.
  • Review shop drawing submittals to ensure accuracy and completeness.
  • Measure and track quantities of work in place to ensure accurate project reporting.
  • Apply knowledge and skills to a wide range of standard and non-standard situations to solve moderately complex problems.
  • Assist with creation of functional project schedules meeting desired deadlines.
  • Maintain organized project records to ensure accurate tracking and reporting.
  • Be dedicated to safety and maintaining a healthy work environment.
  • Be able to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Perform a variety of tasks that may include periodically having to lift heavy objects, stand for extended periods of time, stretch, walk, climb and bend under potentially adverse field conditions and be able to perform visual tasks such as back up spotting and hear and react to back up alarms, per safety protocol.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in civil engineering, construction management or environmental engineering.
  • Knowledge of business concepts and accounting.
  • 1-3 years' experience/internships/co-ops in a heavy civil environment.
  • Strong work ethic.
  • Self-motivated.
  • Proficient computer skills.
  • Values teamwork & communication.
  • Must pass pre-employment drug screen.
  • Must have a valid driver's license or reliable transportation to report to work on time.
  • Position will require travel.

Compensation:

Base salary range: $53,600-$90,000. Level 1: $53,600-$90,000. Level 2: $57,600-$96,250. Actual compensation may vary based on factors such as related work experience, market conditions, education/training, certifications and other credentials, overtime when applicable, as well as applicable knowledge and skills.
