About the Role
As a Yard Jockey/CDL Night Shift professional at US 1 Shorthaul, you will play a vital role in ensuring the safe movement of truck and trailer combinations in our industrial environment. You will be responsible for regularly checking equipment for faults or damages, ensuring compliance with guidelines, and producing accurate activity logs.
Responsibilities Include:
- Moving trailers in and out of dock with yard goats
- Conducting pre and post trip inspections and submitting reports indicating truck conditions
- Producing activity logs
- Adhering to safety-sensitive functions within the yard
To succeed in this role, you will need to possess excellent hand-eye coordination, spatial awareness, and good time-management skills. Strong knowledge of industrial equipment and ability to operate a two-way radio are also essential. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 18 months over-the-road experience within the past 5 years and 12 months within the past 3 years. No preventable DOT accidents within the past 3 years and no application falsifications are required.
This is a full-time, non-exempt position with a salary of approximately $65,000 per year ($31.46 per hour).
