The Clinical Nurse Coordinator (CNC) is responsible for ensuring and delivering high-quality, patient-centered care while coordinating all functions within the unit/department during the assigned shift.
Working alongside other management team members, the CNC directs, monitors, and evaluates nursing care in alignment with established policies and procedures, serves as a resource for staff, and exemplifies a commitment to the organization's vision, mission, and values to foster an exceptional patient experience and clinical outcomes that enhance overall departmental performance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Facilitate admission and discharge processes to ensure efficient patient flow and high-quality, patient-centered care.
- Engage in ongoing assessments of the quality of patient care services delivered in the unit, collaborating with other management team members.
- Work with subject matter experts and fellow managers to cultivate a collaborative environment that supports improved outcomes and service delivery.
- Uphold a patient-first philosophy and engage in service recovery when necessary.- Support facility efforts to enhance engagement by implementing current nursing strategies, including employee rounding, hourly rounds, and other initiatives.
- Provide recommendations regarding the recruitment, selection, and training of new staff.- Recommend and implement actions related to training and development, conflict resolution, personnel policy compliance, performance evaluations, and disciplinary measures to ensure a competitive organization.
- Assist with staff scheduling and manage all practical aspects of staff labor in accordance with patient care needs and established productivity guidelines.- Ensure proper inventory control and assist in managing supplies and equipment.
Qualifications:
- Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing.
- Current State of Florida Registered RN License or recognized Compact Licensure (subject to Florida State Licensing Requirements, including ongoing eligibility and duration provisions).
- Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS Certification from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
- A minimum of one year of acute care Medical/Surgical RN experience.
- Charge Nurse experience is preferred.
