We are seeking a skilled Physical Therapist Assistant to join our team at Ambercare, one of the largest Home Health Care companies in the State of New Mexico. As a Physical Therapist Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the growth and success of our organization.

About the Role:

As a Physical Therapist Assistant, you will work under the supervision of a qualified physical therapist to provide direct physical therapy to patients in their homes. Your responsibilities will include:

Providing physical therapy treatments to patients according to the plan of care and as defined in the state Physical Therapy Practice Act.

Treating patients to relieve pain, develop or restore function, and maintain maximum performance.

Directing and aiding patients in active and passive therapeutic exercises, muscle reeducation, gait and functional training, transfer activities and prosthetic training.

Administering non-complex therapeutic exercises, therapeutic massage, traction, heat, light, cold, water and electrical modalities to clients with relatively stable conditions.

Instructing, motivating and assisting clients in learning and improving functional activities.

Observing clients' progress and response to treatment and reporting findings to the physical therapist.

Assisting in preparing clinical notes and progress reports documenting physical therapy treatments performed and submitting them for review into the clinical record.

Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you will need to have:

A graduate degree from an accredited physical therapy assistant program with either an Associate's degree in science or applied science that is approved by American Physical Therapy Association, Inc.

Current licensure as a Physical Therapist Assistant in the state of practice.

At least one (1) year's experience as a Physical Therapy Assistant (preferred).

Complies and maintains current CPR certification.

Ability to make home visits and provide nursing care in the home environment.

Must have reliable transportation, current driver's license and appropriate automobile insurance.
