CDL Instructor Job Description

Waste Pro USA, Inc. is seeking a qualified CDL Instructor to join our team in Sanford, Florida. As a CDL Instructor, you will be responsible for preparing students to obtain a Class B CDL while delivering classroom lessons that promote students' theoretical and applied driving skills.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide instruction on the parts and functions of a vehicle, and how to perform pre-& post-trip inspections
  • Ensure students understand all DOT requirements and on-road regulations
  • Teach practical skills related to all aspects of professional driving
  • Help students to develop confidence in their driving skills
  • Maintain control of a commercial vehicle during emergency situations
  • Conduct CDL Testing per Florida Regulations
  • Accurate Documentation and maintenance of training records
  • Reporting all accidents immediately to the Risk Department
Requirements:
  • Valid Class A or B Commercial Driver's License
  • Clean driving record
  • Proven experience as a commercial driving instructor
  • Current Florida 3rd Party Certifier or the knowledge and ability to obtain Florida 3rd Party Certifier status within 30 days of hire
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Patience and enthusiasm
  • Ability to remain calm under pressure
