The Senior Liquidity Risk Analyst plays a pivotal role in supporting the Senior Liquidity Risk Manager by enhancing the liquidity risk management framework at Huntington Bancshares Inc. This position is essential for executing key functions that contribute to the effectiveness of liquidity risk management, including cash flow forecasting, liquidity risk limit setting, and comprehensive monitoring/reporting. The role requires exceptional analytical capabilities, a thorough understanding of liquidity risk principles and regulations, meticulous attention to detail, and effective collaboration with senior management and various departments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain the cash flow forecast for the parent company, ensuring accuracy in capturing essential inputs. Collaborate with stakeholders to derive insights into the underlying factors influencing cash flow. Prepare monthly reports that include variance analysis and maintain comprehensive documentation.
- Oversee the administration of liquidity risk metrics, including their calibration, calculation, variance analysis, and reporting. Ensure compliance with regulatory standards and internal policies while effectively monitoring and managing liquidity risk exposure.
- Continuously assess Huntington's adherence to critical liquidity regulations and guidelines through thorough gap assessments. Maintain internal liquidity policies and procedures to ensure compliance with these regulatory frameworks.
- Manage the first-line liquidity control environment by documenting key controls and their relevance to liquidity processes and associated risks, thereby supporting effective liquidity risk management practices.
- Contribute to the execution of Huntington's Contingency Funding Plan (CFP), which includes coordinating actions during CFP activations and tests, calculating early warning indicators, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure that mitigating actions are well-maintained and monitored.
- Provide analytical insights to facilitate decision-making processes aimed at mitigating liquidity risks and enhancing liquidity management strategies.
- Engage in discussions with Treasury Leadership, Risk Management, Internal Audit, and other essential stakeholders as required.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in a financial services organization or a large consulting firm, with a focus on liquidity risk management.
- A bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, economics, or a related discipline.
- A solid understanding of a bank's balance sheet and core treasury principles.
- Comprehensive knowledge of regulatory expectations concerning liquidity risk management practices.
- Experience in managing and monitoring key liquidity regulations and guidelines.
- Strategic and critical thinking abilities to develop and implement innovative processes that enhance the Treasury function across all liquidity dimensions.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
- Familiarity with data analysis tools such as SQL and Python.
- Strong interpersonal skills with effective written and verbal communication capabilities.
- A highly motivated, proactive self-starter with a keen attention to detail, capable of thriving in a fast-paced environment with multiple competing priorities.
