Job Summary

The Electroencephalography Specialist will perform test setup, electrode application, and maintain patient safety during clinically significant events and other related duties. The successful candidate will be accountable for complete and accurate patient preparation, data acquisition, testing, and providing a safe testing environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Comply with applicable policies and procedures, adhere to infection control and safety guidelines, protect and maintain patient privacy and confidentiality, and ensure a safe work and care environment for self and patients.
  • Observe proper body mechanics while performing work area duties and patient care.
  • Tailor methods for instrumentation to obtain optimal results based on history, clinical observations, and test findings.
  • Demonstrate some knowledge of neuroanatomy and physiology, basic electronics, electrical safety, basic computer skills, END instrumentation, pattern recognition, and various medical and pharmacological conditions that influence the EEG recording.
  • Maintain equipment and work area to meet quality and cleanliness standards.
Requirements
  • Must have advanced knowledge of pattern recognition, artifact troubleshooting and identification, seizure precautions, and first aid.
  • Critical thinking and problem-solving skills are essential for success in this role.
  • The ability to communicate thoughts clearly, both verbally and in writing, is crucial.
  • Able to relate professionally and positively and work cooperatively with patients, families, and other employees at all levels.

Estimated Salary Range

$65,000 - $85,000 per year, depending on experience.
