Diagnostic Imaging Team Lead

The Lead Diagnostic Procedures Technologist is a key member of the radiology team, responsible for overseeing the daily operations of radiographic procedures, fluoroscopy, and surgical radiography. This role requires strong leadership and organizational skills to ensure the smooth functioning of the department.
Key Responsibilities- Assigns and coordinates staffing for surgery, radiology, and fluoroscopy to meet the needs of the department.
- Manages breaks and lunch schedules, assessing staffing needs and adjusting levels accordingly.
- Coordinates transcription staff and reviews clinic films for quality to ensure accurate and timely reporting.
- Optimizes patient flow and verifies billing information to ensure efficient and accurate processing.
- Reviews and implements departmental policies and procedures to maintain high standards of care.
- Maintains equipment and supplies, performs quality control, and implements continuous improvement initiatives to ensure optimal performance.
- Manages education and training needs for staff and students, ensuring they have the necessary skills and knowledge to perform their duties effectively.
- Coordinates student activities and assists with staff appraisals to support professional development.
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- An Associate Degree in Radiologic Sciences or completion of an approved Radiologic Technology program.
- Three years of experience as a Radiology technologist, with extensive experience and/or additional education/training in diagnostic radiology, fluoroscopy, surgical radiography, and advanced modality experience preferred.
- Current registry with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists, RT(R), and current radiation operator's certification (general license) issued by the Commonwealth of Kentucky is required. CPR required within thirty days of hire. Additional registry/registry eligible with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologist in Computed Tomography, RT(R)(T), preferred.
This role requires you to work in an area with good lighting and climate control, with a moderate noise level. You will be required to stand, walk, and be on your feet for long periods of time, and must be able to tolerate PPE for extended periods.
