Children's National Medical Center is seeking a highly skilled Cardiac Anesthesiologist Assistant to join our team. As a key member of our perioperative care team, you will work closely with licensed anesthesiologists to implement anesthesia care plans for patients undergoing cardiac surgical procedures.
Key Responsibilities- Perioperative Care
- Collect preoperative data and perform physical examinations to ensure accurate patient assessment.
- Manage supportive therapy, including intravenous fluids and blood products, to maintain patient stability.
- Administer cardiovascular drugs as supportive therapy to optimize patient outcomes.
- Make anesthetic adjustments using intraoperative monitoring modalities to ensure safe and effective anesthesia care.
- Provide a safe transition from the operating room to the recovery area, ensuring seamless patient care.
- Perform functions in post-operative pain assessment and management to optimize patient comfort.
- Technical Skills
- Place venous, arterial, and other invasive catheters to facilitate patient care.
- Secure and manage the airway to ensure patient safety.
- Place, deliver, and manage regional anesthesia to optimize patient outcomes.
- Professional Enhancement
- Maintain and enhance current knowledge by attending continuing education conferences within the hospital or at the regional or national level.
- Participate in the education of other medical practitioners by acting as a mentor, preceptor, and role model.
- Evaluate and use literature and research findings to support practice decisions.
- Design, conduct, and/or participate in research studies to advance the field of perioperative care.
