Job Summary

The Shop Foreman is a key member of our team at Midwest Peterbilt Group, responsible for overseeing the diagnosis and repair of heavy-duty trucks. This role requires strong leadership and technical skills to coordinate the activities of mechanics and ensure timely completion of repairs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate the activities of mechanics in the diagnosis and repair of medium and heavy-duty trucks
  • Train mechanics in mechanical skills needed to perform repairs
  • Recommend equipment, materials, supplies, and parts required to repair medium and heavy-duty trucks
  • Monitor warranty procedures followed by technicians
  • Review performance of mechanics and submit report to the Service Manager
  • Assist the Service Manager in hiring and firing employees
  • Assist the Service Manager and Service Advisor in answering the phone
Requirements
  • High School graduate or GED required
  • Diploma from Technical College or equivalent experience required
  • Intermediate to advanced computer skills required
  • 2 years' experience in heavy-duty truck repair
  • CDL preferred
